Cold Laser Therapy for Pain and Inflammation

Let us be honest… being in constant pain is never fun. Pain and inflammation often prevent people from living full lives! It holds them back from activities they love with friends and family. With our chiropractic services at Touch MedSpa, our main goals are to free you of pain and keep you healthier, longer! We do not want someone missing out on life events due to chronic pain. Most people are unaware of cold laser therapy (I was one of them!) that can help patients receive relief!

What is Cold Laser Therapy?

Cold laser therapy is an FDA approved treatment that uses low intensity light to promote healing. This is a great treatment for sprains, inflammation, skin rejuvenation, etc. One of the biggest benefits for the patient is there is no pain throughout the entire session, and it is noninvasive. The laser uses such a low frequency that it does not even produce heat. The laser penetrates the skin and reaches the damaged cells. The cells absorb this energy, which is then used to promote healing. Pretty cool, huh?

What Does it Treat?

A wide range of injuries can be treated with cold laser therapy. The main uses for cold laser therapy are tissue repair and relief from pain and inflammation. It can also be used to treat minor injuries and sprains (i.e., muscle strains, tendonitis, neck pain, lower back pain, tennis elbow), aches and pains (i.e., carpal tunnel syndrome), and skin rejuvenation (i.e., psoriasis, burns, edema).

How Long Does it Take?

The sessions for cold laser therapy are short, usually only a few minutes. However, patients will need to come in for multiple sessions. Along with quick treatments, the recovery time is quick as well. There is essentially no recovery time needed!
