If you are bothered with your chin profile and notice you have a visible amount of submental fat (chin fat), you may be a candidate for KYBELLA. You will need to complete a consultation with us prior to treatment to ensure you are a candidate.

Common Questions & Concerns
How does KYBELLA work?
The active ingredient in KYBELLA is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, KYBELLA causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.
How long does it last?
Forever! KYBELLA is a non-surgical alternative to getting rid of submental fat. After the aesthetic response is achieved (depending on the number of treatments required), re-treatment with KYBELLA is not expected.
How many treatments will I need?
We will work with you to customize your KYBELLA treatment regimen, including how many treatments you need based on your desired chin profile. Most patients need at least 2 treatments, but up to 6 treatments may be administered based on desired results and what is determined safe and effective.
Will I experience side effects?
The safety profile of KYBELLA is well characterized. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and areas of hardness around the treatment area. Consult with Synergy to learn if you may be susceptible to any possible side effects and to learn how to manage expectations post-treatment.
You should not undergo KYBELLA treatments if you’re pregnant, have or have had medical problems in the neck area, and are taking blood thinners. Ideal candidates will already follow a healthy lifestyle, as KYBELLA cannot prevent the formation of new fat cells.
