Michael D. Peters, M.D.
During Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Dr. Peters served in combat as a U.S. Navy corpsman with the 1st Marine Division & Fleet Hospital-5. He obtained a Biology, B.S. degree Magna Cum Laude from Old Dominion University while on active duty at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. After completely his military service, he attended medical school at SUNY Downstate – Brooklyn, N.Y., graduating with Honors.
Dr. Peters completed his Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery (ENT) training at the University of Minnesota in 2001, where he subsequently was honored to attend the Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship, completed in 2002. After board certifying in both specialties, Dr. Peters has practiced in Chicago and in Minneapolis, and has served Horry and surrounding counties for over 15 years. He is licensed in North & South Carolina.
Dr. Peters’ philosophy of practice involves providing a comfortable, attentive and informative environment that allows the patients to feel educated and involved in their own care. He not only has an interest in his specialty and continually expanding his expertise, but a genuine interest in each patient individually.
