So many people wonder about dermaplaning – what it is good for or does it hurt? I’m here to answer all those questions for you today. Dermaplaning is a manual form of exfoliation that removes the top layer of superficial dead skin. This is the skin that is just sitting on top of the epidermis. Along with the dead skin it also removes the “fuzz” that you may notice on your face, known as vellus hair.
Dermaplaning is also great for deeper product penetration, all those wonderful products that you are using on your face will go much deeper thanks to the dermaplane which will help those products to perform best.
Another major bonus to having a dermaplane is how well your makeup looks after! Your makeup will go on so smoothly and it tends to last a lot longer on the skin since all of that dead skin and vellus hair is gone.
Some people question dermaplanes and wonder if their hair will grow back thicker or darker. This is definitely false. Your hair will not grow back any thicker or any darker (whew!)! Also, a lot of times people may worry that a dermaplane will hurt or be uncomfortable. I can assure you that it is painless! Although there is a different feeling to it, I’ve had people tell me before that it actually feels good.
Dermaplaning is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, I have to have one done every 4 weeks to keep my skin in the best condition! If you are looking for a good pick-me-up for your skin, try out a dermaplane and just wait to feel like a new person!
